Christ In Us

Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and is in you." --John 14:15-17

"Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and will manifest myself to him." John 14:21

Would you like a visit from the awesome Creator of EVERYTHING? Christ said that He is in us. He also said that He and God are one. So, if Christ is in us, then God is in us as well. However, this is something that you will have to put some effort into. It all starts with your thoughts. I have to think to myself that "Its not about me. Its not about how I feel. Its not about what I want. Its not about my pride. Its about God. I give my body, my thoughts, and my spirit to God. I want Him to use me and work through me for His purpose." Apostle Paul said, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

I also have to make an effort to ignore troubling thoughts. For example, if someone is being cruel to you and making fun of your spiritual beliefs, just turn and walk away. Tell yourself, "When they laugh at me, they are laughing in the face of God. He will deal with it. When they hurt me, they are attacking God." Don't be overcome with your own thoughts of anger and hate. "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, VENGEANCE IS MINE; I WILL REPAY, saith the Lord." --Romans 12:18-19 Just know that you are not alone in whatever turmoil or pain you are dealing with. Tell God that you want to give yourself to Him, and that you want His thoughts and His POWERFUL presence in your life. He created everything! There is nothing He can't do. There is no problem He can't solve. Turn your thoughts to God if you want peace in your life. "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." --John 14:27

The same goes for the way we treat others. If we harm someone else, either physically or emotionally, we could be attacking God Himself. Because God is here, living with us and amongst us! "We are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them..." -2Corinthians 6:16 "Do you not know that you* are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If any one destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are." -1Cor 3:16-17 That is why Christ said the second greatest command to love our neighbor IS LIKE the greatest command to love God with all we have.

Christ wants us to eat, drink, live, and breathe Him so to speak. He started the tradition of Holy Communion when He broke bread with His disciples, calling it His flesh and the wine His blood. The Bible says that Christ is the Word that was made flesh. It also says that the Word is God, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." -John 1:1 So, by simply studying the traditional Holy Bible, we can have the Word in us. Jesus said, "...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." -John 6:63

* In this verse, Paul is speaking to the church in Corinth. He is addressing problems with individual members of the church. The days of God living in stone structures have changed to days of God living in each individual Christian. We are God's Holy Temple!
